Landing Page Custom Domain

This sections explains how to connect your external domain to your Hyperfy Landing Page

How to connect a custom domain

Connect an existing custom domain

Follow the steps below to show your Hyperfy Landing Page to your custom domain. If you aren't sure what to do, contact the platform you bought your domain from for help.

1. Add your custom domain

In your Hyperfy Platform, click “Landing Page Domain” link at the sidebar on the left.

On the “Enter Your Domain” field, type the domain you want to link to your Hyperfy Landing Page.

NOTE:
NOTE: If you want to add a custom subdomain but haven't bought the main domain yet, buy it from your preferred domain provider first.

2. Add DNS records to your domain

You’ll need to add A and TXTrecords to your DNS settings so we can verify you do own the domain.

The DNS “A” record value is an IP address, which may look like a bunch of random numbers. But they are the addresses for our servers—on which your Hyperfy Landing Page live!

So, first, log in to your account with the provider whose nameservers your domain is pointed to.

Most domain registrars have custom DNS management panels. You can usually find this under Domain Settings and go to DNS Records. We recommend reading the documentation of your DNS provider and contacting their help desk for assistance with their interface and settings if needed.

Below are guides for common domain registrars:

If your provider isn't listed here, try finding the instructions by searching for "Add DNS records to [your provider]" in your preferred search engine. Alternatively, contact your domain provider for help.

3. Validate your DNS records

After adding your DNS records to your domain provider, come back to Hyperfy and click Verify & Link Domain on the window showing your DNS records:

Ensure there are no other A or TXT records configured for the domain, as they may interfere with Hyperfy’s settings.

💡

IMPORTANT: Once you added your DNS records to you domain provider, it can take a minute or two for the changes to propagate. Don’t worry, you can try again by clicking the “Retry Verification” button

Once we've verified your custom domain, the statuses next to your DNS records will say "Verified":

All done! We’ve verified your domain and once the DNS propagates properly, your Hyperfy Landing Page will appear at your custom domain!

💡

Note

DNS changes may take up to 48 hours to propagate in all geolocations as the DNS cache expires, although this typically occurs within a few hours. Use a tool like DNS CHECKER to track the status of your DNS propagation.

Updating your custom domain

If you want to update your custom domain, remove it first. Then, add your updated custom domain to Hyperfy using the steps above.

Removing your custom domain

You can remove your custom domain from Hyperfy anytime by clicking the Trash Icon action button on “Your Custom Domains":

It's also a good practice to remove our DNS records from the platform you've added them to after that.
